If You Are In A Car Accident

  1. Turn on emergency flashers.

  2. Call 911 if there are any injuries or visible car damage.

  3. Do NOT move injured people – let the medics do it.

  4. Do not move cars unless they are blocking the freeway or police tell you.

  5. Get the following information from all drivers: name, current address and phone, insurer name, policy number.

  6. Get photos of car damage and injuries – at the scene if possible.

  7. Go to the Emergency Room of your nearest hospital for evaluation, and get recommended treatment.

  8. Do not give a statement to an insurance adjuster until you’ve talked with an attorney.

  9. Do not accept money or sign a release until all injuries have been discovered – this often takes at least one month.

  10. Cooperate with police and give full and accurate statements (unless you may be charged with a crime because of the accident, in which case you should hire a criminal defense attorney before speaking with police).

  11. Call Jeff Herman at 425-361-1273 for a free consultation as soon as possible.
